Greetings everyone! My name is Ben Pastore. I am a traveler, author, artist and professional speaker. To date I have visited 78 countries across all seven continents, but am always on the lookout for the opportunity to add to that list. In this blog I do more than just share my destination expertise and firsthand insights. I try to share my humor, lessons learned, and the mark each place I’ve left my footprints has had on me. I encourage you to comment and share your thoughts with my readers as well, since the best thing about traveling is sharing the experience with others. Thanks for visiting.

I would like to learn more about the Alaskan bush. I have seen some ESL teaching jobs that I’m interested in, but am wondering about what it looks like, etc. I am also interested in the different native Americans and their languages in these places, and how to find out more information, especially about the different languages that are spoken by the different Native American communities.
Please travel there for me and find out. 🙂
Nice blog!

Thanks for the compliment. Sounds like you have some interesting plans. As for what it looks like, figure spruce trees, wide open vistas and mountain backdrops. The vast majority of the state is inaccessible by road, so reaching the indigenous communities is not the easiest thing, and Alaskans in general are a bit odd, though generally very friendly.
If I travel back there I’ll be sure to let you know. 🙂

Hi Ben,
Sorry, I have not forgotten to give you feedback. I just didn’t think it would be fair to judge on one post. My parents are also coming to visit for Easter and I have a few articles to finish off. Do you have an email and I’ll get back to you in a few days?
Thanks!
Olivia

I am now following and I like your blog. You read some of my blog, so you know I currently travel on this continent (US bound). I would like to do more world travel when the opportunity comes around. I think your blog is a great resource. Plus, anyone with an appreciation of Orson Scott Card, can’t be all bad. I’m marking down your other favorite author to put on the to be read list. 🙂

The Cape Province is a must! Do the wine route. Go to the Knysna Forest. Too much to mention.

Hi Ben,
During your trip to India, could you go to Gir Lion Sanctuary in Gujarat? I see you love the wild and the native animals. Gir is a pleasure for people like you.
